Mark your calendars for Tuesday July 14th
For our ‘Baby Shower’ (that is when we get to show off all new Baby Lock machines) we will be having a party that will include a Lecture – Demo & Trunk Show with Baby Lock’s National Educator Margret Tully (the Serger Queen). If you own a Serger and want to know what all those feet do or are curious as to why you need a serger then don’t miss this party! Margret will be showing samples that will have you so inspired you will go home and dust your old serger off or maybe even take a new one home with you. You know Baby Lock is the one that goes WOOSH……………and it is threaded. You have to see it to believe it.
We will have special pricing on all Baby Lock Machines for this one day event. Will we do trade-ins on your old serger? We are going to do better than that! Wait till you come and hear about this one………..
When you come for the Lecture-Demo – Trunk Show or come by and make a Bow Tie Block on a Serger then you will enter your name for the drawing of a Baby Lock Sofia Sewing & Embroidery Machine for FREE. (Thank you Baby Lock for donating this great machine ). Someone will go home with a new Baby Lock Sewing & Embroidery Machine that day. Drawing will be at 6 p.m.
on the day of the event. You do not need to be present to win but you do have to of attended the event. 
We will have a morning session from 10 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. or
Afternoon session from 3p.m . till 5:30 p.m.
Anytime from 12:30 till 3p.m. will be when you can ask questions – talk with Margaret and make your Bow Tie Block (Quilter’s you aren’t going to believe this.)
Event will take place at the Flagler Shop and seating will be limited so sign up early. To sign up please e-mail Barbara at

Sign up now for this two color Batik Block a Month for a *Buck a Month - Join the fun on a quilt top that you can make for less than $20.00 (plus optional cost of sashing and borders).
There are a few rules..... you must bring your finished quilt block to the shop on the designated day and pick up your new fabric pack and instructions for your next block - we know things happen that we can't plan on , if you miss the designated day because of an emergency or for whatever reason you will be able to pick the new block up for $3.99 (sorry no exceptions). No one else can bring your finished block in for you because while you are there we are going to show you what is new for the month plus............a new or favorite technique. Come on in and sign up and try it - you won't be sorry, The Buck a Month will be available at the Ormond Shop and the Flagler Shop. The kit for the first month will be Block One and a pack of Thangles for a cost of $6.00 - from then on a 'Buck a Month' (if you bring your finished block in on the designated day).

More Announcements! Barbara and I went to Baby Lock training in Fenton Missouri for a week now we are a couple 'Know it Alls' - stop in and let us prove it.
We both just got back from Pittsburg from Spring Quilt Market (what a good time we had playing with all those new fabrics and quilter's toys), all the new goodies will be arriving daily.
One more thing............do you know that when you purchase a machine from Byrd's Nest that you get classes (at no charge) for as long as you need. Plus the sewing clubs will keep you motivated and sewing. We are always here to help you!

Byrd’s Nest Quilt Shop in Ormond Beach continues to be one of the largest quilt shops in Florida, if not the whole country. Over 5000 bolts of fabrics are always in stock with the inventory changing daily to accommodate the constant delivery of new fabrics, patterns and supplies. Located steps from the beach, the tropical influence is obvious when you step inside the door. The cheery staff and brightly, colored samples invite you to spend hours browsing, shopping and getting inspired.
One exciting new development in 2008 was the opening of a second Byrd’s Nest Quilt Shop in Flagler Beach, located right off I-95 for your convenience.
