The super cool blocks in this beautiful Christmas quilt were created using those fabulous Shiva Paintstiks and rubbing plates! Soooooo simple. Just like those 'leaf' rubbings or 'coin' rubbings you did as a kid! Come join the fun and create your own beautiful set of Christmas blocks.

WEAR 'MESSY' CLOTHING......PAINTSTIKS ARE PERMANENT!!!
Shiva Paintstiks: in colors of your choice. We used 'primary' colors, 'metallics', irridescent 'jade', and 'white' in the sample. In addition, Shiva brand Paintstiks are formulated for use on fabric and are intended to be 'permanent' when cured and heat set. To help ensure success of your project, if you choose to use another brand, please ensure that it is intended for permanent use on fabric and that your paint sticks are not 'crumbling' or unable to be 'peeled' (sometimes due to exposure to high heat conditions).
Christmas rubbing plates by Cedar Canyon Textiles, available at Byrd's Nest
Stencil brushes in various sizes.
Small artist's quality paintbrushes, such as a 'filbert' or an 'angled' brush.
Paper Towels: You'll need a roll!
Two or three self sealing plastic bags: Such as Ziploc or Hefty, gallon size.
GripNGrip mat (optional)
Freezer Paper
Blue painter's tape: 1" wide is fine.
Fabric: Fabric MUST be cut prior to class.......class will begin immediately with creating the block rubbings. To complete the blocks, 1 yard black 100% cotton, cut into nine 9 1/2" squares.
Disposable gloves (optional): Paintstiks are fun, but can be messy!
